Parrot of the Week

Hercules the Panama Amazon was born in 1997 and arrived here at the zoo in 2005 having experienced the most unusual of trips.

His owners purchased him as a hand reared baby and took him to their Manchester home where he lived for a couple of years until they all emigrated to America, travelling around America for a number of years Hercules started clocking up the miles around the states before his owners decided to move back to the UK.

On their return and both getting full-time jobs it was decided that Hercules needed a little more in life so they asked the zoo if we would take him on.

On his arrival and listening to his travelling story we checked out his leg ring details and amazingly discovered he was actually born here in Friskney.
