Moving any animal from any place is going to be a stressful procedure and parrots are no different, no matter how hard we try all we can do is minimise this stress by whatever means we have available. A further problem arises in the colder months from October through to March where these parrots are not fully acclimatised to the British weather preventing any new arrivals within this period from going outside with their respective colonies in the zoo bringing on the major problem of 'Limited spaces'.

Planning permission has just been received to construct the Rainforest Experience, an amazing all weather development, allowing anyone at anytime to experience the creatures that live in the Rainforest set within the Parrot Zoo who recently received the honour of being within the top 100 visitor attractions to visit in the UK, this will no doubt enhance what is already a superb facility.

One of our biggest and most enjoyed attractions is our Walk-through enclosure which obviously means this is the one that sadly gets most damage done to it, we would like to bring it up to scratch with some new children's signage along with a total revamp of seating and perches etc
