Sadly a very close friend of mine has just passed away, John Strutt a masive bird keeper and unbeleivable caring man died of heart failure in the early hours of Tuesday March the 2nd at the age of 74.
If you ever met this larger than life character you would know just what a loss to the parrot world this is, he is famous in the Cumbrian area for his free flying parrots and we have worked on and off together in assisting parrots since the 90s'. I was always amazed to see his fabulous collection flying through the Cumbrian skies and he had everything from Budgerigars to Scarlet Macaws all of which flew free at some time or another.
John lived for nature and his charitable work was testament to this, he loved everything from a Butterfly to a Blackbird and all inbetween, he had even set aside 1000s of acres of land which he had purchased to allow it to go back to nature, what a wonderful man.
The parrot world will no doubt miss him but not half as much as his friends and parrots.
Rest in Peace John........
