The Senegal parrot is a small brightly coloured parrot of a length of 22cm. Generally plumage is green, rump and abdomen a yellowish/orangey colour, has a grey head and beak with yellow eyes. Senegal parrots in the wild are often considered as pests due to them feeding on maize or millet sprays.

Can be very lively and playful. Provide regular supply of wood as they enjoy chewing. Hardy when acclimatised. Generally tolerant of other birds. If to be kept as pets, you must purchase hand reared chicks for them to be a friendly bird.
